| Insert pictures in HTML with ease |
| |
When creating HTML-formatted messages in Outlook 2000, you might have problems inserting a picture into a message. In some situations, Outlook will even generate an error message that says in part, "'undefined' is null or not an object." This might occur if you installed the Office 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP-2) and then later upgraded your system to Internet Explorer (IE) 5.5 SP-2.
Here are three possible solutions to this problem:
If you want to avoid any updates or system changes, you can configure Outlook to use Microsoft Word as the e-mail editor (since Word doesn't experience the picture-insertion problem). To do so, go to Tools | Options | Mail Format and select Use Microsoft Word To Edit E-mail Messages. Now click Apply and OK.
If you prefer not to use Word as the e-mail editor, you need to make some changes to IE, which is the source of the problem. One option is to remove IE 5.5 SP-2, reverting to the previous version of IE.
If you don't mind upgrading, you can upgrade the system to IE 6.0, which doesn't cause this problem with Outlook. |
