| Assign a Web page to an Outlook folder |
| |
Normally when a user opens an Outlook folder, Outlook displays the contents of that folder. However, in some situations you might want Outlook to display a Web page. For example, maybe you have created an internal contact list that you have published as a Web page to a server on your intranet. You want Outlook to display that page in Outlook when the user opens his Contacts folder.
It's easy to assign a Web page to an Outlook folder:
1. Right-click the folder and choose Properties.
2. Click the Home Page tab.
3. Enter the URL for the Web page in the Address field.
4. Select the option Show Home Page by Default for This Folder, then click OK.
In Outlook 2002, there is no means to switch between the normal Outlook folder view and the home page for the folder. So, the only way to view the Web page is to select the Show Home Page by Default for This Folder option, as in step 4. You must deselect this option to switch back to the normal folder view.
In Outlook 2000, you can switch more easily between the two views. Choose View | Show Folder Home Page to switch between views.
Outlook 2002 offers one additional feature not offered by Outlook 2000. You can click Offline Web Page Settings on the Home Page tab to make the page available offline and configure scheduled updates for the page. |
