| Control how Calendar displays the workweek |
| |
Your users have different preferences when it comes to viewing their Calendar folders. Some may prefer a daily view, while others prefer a weekly or monthly view. Even those that use the monthly view have preferences: Some want to see the week start on Monday, while others prefer to see the week start on Sunday. Help your users tailor their view to suit their needs.
To switch to a monthly view:
Choose View | Current View | Day/Week/Month.
Click the Month button on the toolbar.
By default, Outlook shows the calendar with Monday as the first day of the week and Saturday and Sunday compressed into the far right column. It's easy to switch the view to show Sunday first with each day in its own column. There are two things to change: weekend compression and the week's start day.
To specify the day on which the week starts:
Choose Tools | Options.
On the Preferences tab, click Calendar Options to open the Calendar Options dialog box.
Select the desired start day from the First Day Of Week drop-down list and click OK.
Choose View | Current View | Customize Current View.
Click Other Settings to open the Format Day/Week/Month View dialog box.
Under Month, clear the Compress Weekend Days option and click OK, then click OK to close the View Summary dialog box.
The result is a Calendar view that shows the month with Sunday in the first column and each day in its own column.
The calendar will print the same way if the user prints from the current view and selects Monthly Style from the Print dialog box. |
