Move Palm Desktop addresses to Outlook

If you have Palm PDA users in the organization who are migrating to Outlook, it's a good bet that those users will want to move their contact addresses from their Palm Desktop application to Outlook. Exporting the addresses to Outlook enables them to use those addresses to compose message, initiate phone calls, and send faxes from Outlook to those contacts.

To copy addresses from Palm Desktop to Outlook:

1. Open Palm Desktop and click Addresses, then choose File, Export.

2. Type a name for the file, choose Comma Separated Values from the Export Type list, select All for the Range option, and click Export. Click OK twice in the Specify Export Fields dialog box.

3. Open Excel and open the CSV file you created in step 2. Add the column headings shown below, then save the file.

4. Open Outlook and choose File, Import and Export to start the Import and Export Wizard. Select Import from Another Program or File, and click Next.

5. Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) from the list and click Next, click Browse to select the CSV file, and click Next. Select the Contacts folder (or other contact-item folder), click Next, and click Finish.

After the contacts are added to the user's Contacts folder, he or she can begin using them like any contact created in Outlook and add/remove information from each contact as needed.
